Fire on Kuta Square Spreads Panic among Tourists

KUTA, KOMPAS.com - The shopping district of Kuta Square in Kuta, Badung, Bali has been on fire since 07.30 a.m. local time, Thursday. It was temporarily predicted that an electrical shortcut ignited the fire.

"At around 07.30, fire emerged on an outlet of quick silver before it spread over the place," said Ketut Natih, an eyewitness who works at the place. Fire spread over the other outlet next to it.

The fire also spread panic among tourists who are on holiday around the district. They tried to evacuate themselves from the place.

There is no explanation on casualties and cost of loss caused by fire that almost burns up the outlet and has been being put out by fire department officers. (C4-10)
