How Susno Feels about The Investigation on Him

DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - Former National Police chief detective Commissioner General Susno Duadji praised the National Police’s independent investigators who questioned him here Tuesday.

"The police investigators have shown their good attitude and worked professionally," he told reporters shortly after arriving at his house in Puri Cinere housing complex here Tuesday evening.
     
Arriving at home at 10.30 pm by his BMW sedan, Susno Duadji said the police’s independent investigation team members questioned him for six and a half hours. He was still to be quizzed on Wednesday for the Gayus Tambunan and Andi Kosasih cases.

"The agenda of tomorrow’s questioning remains the same," he said without further elaboration.
     
Asked about his reasons for changing his police uniform into Batik shirt, Susno Duadji said he met with his friends after the questioning session. Therefore the shirt was changed, he said.  Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief of the National Police’s public relations division Senior Commissioner Zaenuri Lubis said the police investigators would still quiz Susno Duadji on Wednesday.

"On Wednesday morning, Susno will again be questioned as a witness (in the rogue tax official) Gayus Tambunan’s money laundering and corruption cases," he said.
     
During Tuesday’s session, the police investigators raised 40 questions but Susno, the whistle blower of the Gayus Tambunan case, could only answer 38 questions, he said. The remaining two questions would be answered on Wednesday, he said without further elaboration.
     
Lubis declined to disclose the specific matters Susno Duadji had been questioned about. "In general, Susno was questioned as a witness in the Gayus Tambunan case," he said.
     
Apart from that, the national police did appreciate Susno for his cooperativeness during the questioning, Lubis said. Meanwhile, Susno Duadji’s lawyer, Zul Armain Aziz, said his client was questioned as a witness for eight suspects in the Gayus Tambunan case.

The police investigators asked his client about Gayus Tambunan’s bank account of Rp25 billion, he said adding that during the questioning, Susno Duadji was not confronted with any suspect.   Susno Duadji was the first person who revealed the mafia case and engineering practices within the police force in connection with rogue tax official Gayus Tambunan’s money laundering and corruption cases.
     
Tambunan’s case came under the spotlight after the police named him suspect in connection with a suspicious Rp25 billion bank account in his name. At least 12 middle ranking officials of the Indonesian finance ministry were allegedly involved in tax brokering cases.
     
In connection with Tambunan’s case, the police had arrested Haposan Hutagalung, who was Tambunan’s lawyer from June 8 to September 1, 2009, and two middle-ranking police officers. The Gayus Tambunan fiscal mafia case had also triggered the suspension of Lampung provincial police chief Brig Gen Edmon Ilyas from his position to facilitate an investigation into his suspected involvement.
