JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Two special presidential staff members, Andi Arief of natural disaster and social relief, and Velix Wanggai of regional development and autonomy, plan to meet the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) central board chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Assistant to the special presidential staff, Akuat Supriyanto, stated on Thursday, Jakarta, that the meeting was to give an overall view regarding the various cases of suspected crimes by a number of parties regarding the fictive letter of credit (L/C) in Century Bank.
"Mrs. Megawati is a figure who always prioritizes on law supremacy. Therefore, we'd like to explain what is happening regarding the suspected banking crime by a number of perpetrators from Century Bank, especially in regards to the blank L/C."
However, according to Supriyanto, the definite time of the meeting hasn't been decided because Megawati has been busy attending various regional conferences for the coming PDI-P congress in Bali.
"Andi Arief and Velix Wanggai are still communicating with PDI-P figures to find the best time for the meeting."
Further more, Supriyanto stated that the meeting regarding the blank L/C is to give a balanced information to the former president regarding Century Bank's case.
