Police Comm. Gen. Susno Duadji

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The meeting of the Wanjakti (a police council responsible for ranks) has resulted in the decision to replace several officers in the National Police, including Police Comm. Gen. Susno Duadji's position as Criminal Detective Body Chief (Kabareskrim). After being replaced, Susno is now placed as high-ranking officer at the National Police HQ.

"Susno has been placed as high-ranking officer in the National Police HQ," said National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Nanan Sukarna, during a press conference, Tuesday night, at the National Police HQ's PR Division. The plan to replace the Kabareskrim has been mentioned by the National Police Chief, Police Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri during a meeting with the leaders and editorial team of Kompas daily, at the Kompas Gramedia office this afternoon.

Nanan explained, the mutation telegram for high-ranking officer was stated as number 618/IX/2009, dated November 24, 2009. There were 25 mutated police officials - 16 of which are high-ranking officers and 9 are great commissioners.

Aside from that, seven officials started their retirement.

However, Nanan wasn't willing to comment when asked about the reason for the dismissal of Susno as Kabareskrim, whether it was related or not with the case of Bibit S. Riyanto and Chandra M. Hamzah, the two non-active high-officials of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"This matter has been considered in the Wanjakti. I can't relay the reason (of the dismissal) because it's not within my capacity. I wasn't in the Wanjakti," he said. (C8-09/C17-09)
